ERITREA

Massawa, Dahlak Archipelago and Keren

In the other cities of Eritrea life is different than in Asmara: people tend to move more and more to the capital.
Massawa, a semi-deserted city, overlooks the Red Sea: life takes place especially in the port area, with the Dahlak Archipelago that extends in front of the city. The inhabitants live mostly of fishing. To provide education for the inhabitants of Massawa and the Dahlak Archipelago, sometimes some NGOs build schools, attended by children from many ethnic groups.
Instead in Keren, the third largest city in Eritrea, people live instead of trade: particularly famous is the animal market held every Monday in the city center: people from all over the area gather in Keren to sell their animals.
