Gelada baboon

The Gelada baboon is a species similar to the most common baboon of the genus Papio. It is a type of monkey of the family of the Cercopitecidi and It is the only living species of the genus Theropithecus. The Gelada lives in Ethiopia, especially in the protected area of the Semien National Park at about 4000 meters of altitude. It lives in groups and form perfectly hierarchized communities. These communities can reach even 400 specimens, divided into other groups of lesser importance. Each group is dominated by a large adult male.
