Once considered one of the most dangerous places in South America, today Comuna 13, in the popular San Javier district of Medellin, is experiencing a cultural renaissance thanks to art and tourism. Many young people have started to rebel against violence with art. Once the situation in the Commune became more peaceful, with the abandonment of the area by the various guerrilla factions living there, the community organized itself trying to find new ways to transform the place. And it is for this reason that today Comuna 13 is one of the most visited places in Medellin, with many tourists and travelers from all over the world who want to see this place that was once practically inaccessible for those who did not live there. Its story is very complicated, and for many years it was full of violence.
